(“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit danielaburgess.com (the “Site”), subscribe to our newsletter, purchase a course or product, or contact us. Health information & therapy services (important)
This Site is an educational and informational resource. It is not where clinical therapy takes place. Any protected health information (PHI) you share as part of therapy or coaching is collected and handled through our secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal (SimplePractice) and is governed by HIPAA and our separate Notice of Privacy Practices — not by this website Policy. Please do not send clinical details, diagnoses, or sensitive health information through the Site, email, or our newsletter. Use the secure client portal for anything involving your care.
Information we collect
- Information you provide: your name and email when you subscribe to our newsletter, and your name, email, billing details, and order information when you purchase a course or product.
- Account & course data: if you create an account or enroll in a course, we store your login, enrollment, and progress information.
- Automatically collected data: standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring pages, collected via cookies and similar technologies for analytics and site functionality.
- Appointment & contact requests: handled through our secure client portal (SimplePractice); those submissions are governed by that provider’s privacy and security terms and our Notice of Privacy Practices.
How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the Site; deliver purchased courses and products; process payments; send newsletters and updates you request; respond to inquiries; maintain security; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers we share data with
We share information only with providers that help us operate the Site, and only as needed for those services. These include our website host and infrastructure provider (Automattic / WordPress.com and Jetpack), our e-commerce and payment processing tools (WooCommerce and its payment processor), our course platform (Sensei LMS), our email/newsletter tool (MailPoet), and our HIPAA-compliant client portal (SimplePractice). Payments are processed by a PCI-compliant payment provider; we do not store full payment card numbers on the Site.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, to remember preferences and cart contents, and to understand how the Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect Site functionality.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain uses, and to unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in our emails. Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS encryption across the Site, to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Children
The Site and its content are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
